Catherine Vicki is a Sydney-based photographer and contemporary artist working across photography, painting, and textiles. With more than 20 years of professional experience as a photographer, her work spans editorial photography, commercial photography, portrait photography, and fine art practice. Known for her thoughtful and visually driven approach, Catherine creates images that combine artistic depth with strong storytelling.
Born in Sydney, Australia, where she lives and works, Catherine holds an Associate Diploma of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Visual Communication (Photography & Digital Imaging). Alongside her professional photography career, she has developed an established multidisciplinary art practice that explores personal narratives of faith, identity, and the human experience through image, material, and narrative.
Working across photography, painting, and textiles, Catherine’s material approaches are influenced by her upbringing—her mother’s craft as a seamstress and her father’s photographic practice. Inspired by the ideas of nineteenth-century photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, her work often blends the tactile qualities of textiles and painting with the evocative power of photography.
Catherine’s artwork has been selected for over 30 exhibitions internationally, including exhibitions in Sydney, New York, and Japan, and her work is held in private and institutional collections.
